Weather Dock: Desktop forecast App Reviews

I have tried to use this program three times hoping it would eventually be upgraded to be able to give an accurate temperature reading. Alas, no luck. Its not just a bit out, its dramatically wrong. Yesterday was 14 C here, the program was showing 27 C! This seems to happen on a consistent basis. Its a nice little program, too bad it is so inaccurate!

I have been using this app on my computer for a long time and have been happy with it. I really like this new look and the way the info is presented. Great job!!

I guess I believe the hype too much some times, so I actually paid for this App. Wrong move apparently. Unless I got an older truncated version, or I am computer illiterate (I don’t think so. My degree is in computer sciences), it doesn’t do anything that the free version does not do. So I got ripped off, and the App gets a fail.

This is a simple app for weather temps on a daily basis. It’s simple. When I want complicated I go to the NOAA website.

I wanted a weather icon that showed me the weather without me having to go to a website - that’s exactly what Weather Dock does. It shows a little graphic of sun, or rain, or clouds, and the temperature (I have the free version). If I want the full forecast, I just click the icon in my dock. You can also have it automatically open upon start up, but I choose to open it whenever I want. I like the graphics and descriptions. One day after four days straight of rain, it described a sunny day as “abundant sunshine.” It made me smile.

I love this app, it is great! Has a nice look to it, and I love that it gets it weather info from Weather Underground, which is the only weather source I really trust. I would, however, like to see something showing the time/date last updated, so I can see that it was recently updated. Also, a refresh button would complement this, and this would also help with knowing the weather data was recently updated.

I like the software, but I wish there was a way to get it up into the toolbar at the top of the screen instead of running in the background or in the dock. I would like to be able to click on toolbar at the top and have the information fly down onto the screen instead.

Weather Dock is handy as an icon on your computer dashboard. Easy to view all the data. By all means pay a little to get the full version.

This app gives you estimates of when it’s going to rain or thunder by the hour! You can plan your day accordingly. I have worked with it with surprising results. I live in Florida and if I have work to be done outside, I can be prepared to gather my tools once I use the app as a guide and wait for the trickling to start. I’m usually done before the storms hits. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT !!!

The Weather Dock app is ok, but not for me, here are my opinions: - App doesn’t show an icon in the “Menu Bar” for easy access. (only has application’s icon in the Dock) - When the window is open on your desktop and you click on another app, Weather Dock app disappears from the screen which is VERY annoying - The animation of the clouds is annoying (but that’s minor). The rain and lightning animation is kinda cool though - At first glance the information is not easily digestible because of the amount of information (Shows text of what to expect in the weather each day; shows: Current / Today / Friday / Saturday) - Not very customizable, only one view layout available, no option to display less days or less information As a computer software test analyst, I don’t find this app as user friendly as one would expect, but the biggest annoyance is how the app goes away when you click on anything else, even the desktop.

Weather Dock is always there with up-to-date weather forecasts ; it’s hard to forget to check the weather when the little reminder is jumping up and down in the doc to get your attention. It’s done tastefully; not aggravating. So I’m very pleased so far; no complaints! And I also like the cloud, rain, and sunshine, etc. graphics. Fun! Thanks Weather Dock; Good Job!

This app only has basic functions unless you upgrade to the full paid version. Nice looking, and it stays in the dock.

This little app does exactly what I wanted whidh is to put the temperature on the dock. The additional functions are a bonus.

Love this little app. It can do many wnerful things but for me, I prefer to see things At a Glance…. and thats what it does….Right on my Dock, I can always see if it’s cloudy, rainy etc… and current Temperature. Recommend it to all who have an interest in knowing what the weather is going to be for the period that you are going to be…outside.

A nice little ap that unobtrusively sits in the dock and gives current conditions.

nice app, only thing stopping a 5 star is the annoying popups if you don’t buy the full version. It’s because of this I will not buy it, it does what I need the way it is and when the pop ups become to much I’ll just delete it.

Minimal CPU and memory usage. Animated Weather at a glance. Looks great on the dock.
